Strategic Plan and Goals

AAUW of MI will be a highly visible, diverse organization, recognized especially for its commitments to eqity for women and girls by breaking through educational and economic barriers.  We will make a personal commitment to the future of AAUW of MI.

GOALS 2008-2010

  1. AAUW of Michigan will be a highly visible organization with a growing and diverse membership.
  2. AAUW of Michigan will initiate, maintain diverse partnerships to break through educational and economic barriers.
  3. AAUW of Michigan will continue to work for the improvement of public education for all students, especially promoting equitable educational opportunities for women and girls.
  4. AAUW of Michigan will continue to provide leadership development and promote individual growth.
  5. AAUW of Michigan will support branches, district structure and encourage inter-branch communication. 
  6. AAUW of Michigan will encourage members to support AAUW and the Educational Foundation, including the Legal Advocacy Fund, Leadership Training Institute and the National Conference of College Women Student Leaders (NCCWSL).
  7. AAUW of Michigan will communicate with the branches and members through publications, electronic means, and state officer visits to branches.  AAUW will provide assistance in the use of technology, such as the internet and website.
  8. AAUW of Michigan will provide mission-based programming to emphasize the importance of programming to build and maintain membership.
  9. AAUW of Michigan will endeavor to empower, enlighten and inspire women's shared experiences and cause the quality of their lives to shift in a positive way.
