AAUW MI Goals

State Board adopts strategic plan, goals for 2006-08

At its 2006 summer board meeting the AAUW MI Board adopted the following strategic plan:

 

AAUW of Michigan will be a highly visible, diverse organization, recognized especially for its commitments to equity for women and girls and to improving public education for all.  We will secure the future of AAUW of Michigan by making a personal connection through energy, mission and commitment.

 

Goals  2006-2008

AAUW of Michigan will be a highly visible organization with a growing and diverse membership.

AAUW of Michigan will initiate, maintain and reconnect with diverse partnerships to advocate for social justice, education and equity issues.

AAUW of Michigan will continue to work at the state level for the improvement of public education, especially in promoting equitable educational opportunities for women and girls.

AAUW of Michigan will continue to provide leadership development and promote individual growth through Leadership Training Modules.

AAUW of Michigan will educate members about the importance of their financial support to AAUW and Educational Foundation.

AAUW of Michigan will communicate with the branches and members by utilizing publications, electronic means, state officer visits to branches and will encourage assistance in the use of the internet and website.

AAUW of Michigan will communicate with branches and provide mission-based programming and emphasize the importance of programming to build and maintain membership.

AAUW of Michigan will support the Association programmatic theme:  “Education as the Gateway to Women’s Economic Security.”
