MarshallYear Established 1949Number of Members 31Marshall Branch of AAUW has been an active organization of the community for 56 years. The founding President of AAUW Marshall Branch was Michigan Supreme Court Chief Justice, Mary Stallings Coleman. Over the years our membership has changed, but our purpose has remained steadfast. The purpose of the Marshall AAUW Branch is to unite the alumnae of colleges and universities which are on the AAUW list of qualified institutions for practical educational work; to concentrate and increase their influence in the community for the solution of social and civic problems; to participate in the development and promotion of the policies and programs of AAUW; to contribute to its growth and influence; and to cooperate at the state, regional and national levels. Marshall created an endowment fund at Marshall Community Foundation to fund the AAUW Patrice Elms Scholarship. This endowment fund will one day entirely fund the annual scholarship given to a qualified Marshall High School graduating senior to pursue their education. In addition the branch makes yearly donations to the AAUW Educational Foundation and the AAUW Legal Advocacy Fund.
Marshall AAUW’s yearly community service project provides each Marshall High School senior a scholarship booklet in the fall of their senior year. This booklet lists every school board-approved scholarship as well as eligibility requirements and due dates.
Membership to AAUW is open to anyone who has obtained an Associate’s Degree or the equivalent from an accredited college or university. If you would like more information about joining the Marshall Branch of AAUW please feel free to contact any one of the individuals listed below. Current Officers

In May they will conclude the year with a relaxing evening of dinner and discussion by gardener Vi Gogel, who will be sharing ways to create a butterfly garden. The Marshall branch had three successful fundraisers this year, which included a fall and winter book sale and a Christmas silent auction which benefited the Legal Advocacy Fund.
