---------------- Jackson Branch Honors “Honorary Life Members” at 2007 Fall Membership Tea
At our Membership Tea in the fall, we tell stories. Why do we tell stories? Quoting Madeleine L’Engle, “We tell stories because it does indeed have something to do with faith, faith that the universe has meaning, that our little human lives are not irrelevant, that what we choose or say or do matters, matters cosmically.” At our Membership Tea in 2007 we invited our Honorary Life Members to tell their story as it related to their experience in getting a higher education, their family, their career, and how their 50 years of membership in AAUW has enriched their lives; and how they have given back. Talk show hostess, Judy Ganton, from our local TV station JTV introduced our Honorary Life Members and asked them questions. The TV station ran these stories on their program, Senior Living. Our branch received a DVD of the program which we will save in our archives. Last update May 3, 2008 |
