Branch Projects

  • EF and Book Sale The branch has funded an international fellowship and local scholarships through its annual Used Book Sale, scheduled in September.

  • Working with other groups The Grosse Pointe branch actively seeks opportunities to partner with other community organizations.  Among its various projects, the Grosse Pointe branch regularly collects personal hygiene items for Alternatives for Girls, a non-profit organization in the downtown Detroit area and one of the recipients of the book sale proceeds.

Study/Interest Groups In addition to extensive activity surrounding the book sale, the Grosse Pointe branch has several active study groups, including literature discussion groups, music, art, and poetry groups, a group which speaks only French at its meetings, a stitchery group, and even a group which meets monthly for lunch, aptly named "The Sandwich Generation."
