About the Detroit Branch

Latest News:  Cynthia McClure and Community In Schools (CIS) helped arrange for Detroit Public Schools -- Southeastern High and
Northwestern High's -- to participate in the co-sponsored event Running & Winning Workshop on Feb. 29.  Eboni Lamar, Cynthia McClure
and Janet Watkins helped facilitate the young ladies from DPS Southeastern and Northwestern High Schools, Grosse Pointe North, Grosse Pointe South, University Liggett, and Regina High Schools.

It was a wonderful opportunity for the girls (and the adults) to talk with public officials (women) and learn what it takes to be successful at
running for public office.

AAUW Detroit Branch thanks our AAUW Grosse Pointe counterparts, Judge Lynn Pierce and Vicki Granger, and Christina Schlitt from
the GP League of Women Voters for extending the invitation to us and the Detroit Public Schools.

We look forward to participating in next year's workshop.
