AAUWMI PROPOSED BYLAWS CHANGES

Please click here to download proposed bylaws changes

Bylaw and Policy Director:

Branch bylaws with AAUW’s mandatory amendments completed  (to comply with restructuring at the 2009 national convention) were originally due to state Bylaws & Policy Director on October 31, 2009.  The deadline has been extended twice, and now is scheduled for mid-March.  If your branch has questions about how to do this, please contact me as soon as possible.

The state bylaws committee has proposed six (6) amendments to AAUW of Michigan bylaws for your consideration at state convention May 8, 2010. The current bylaw language and proposed new language is detailed in the 8-page “centerfold” included with this newsletter.  Please save it to bring with you to convention.

Led by 'commontater' Sharon Belobraidich (third from left) these district members performed a skit at lunchtime which shared some of the most common traits of AAUW members.  It was the hit of the day!  (Click here or on the image to follow the link to the RAMM Photo Facebook page where you can see additional photos taken at the District 4, 7 & 8 Meeting on October 31). Health Care: A Basic Right

AAUW continues to break through barriers for all women and girls.  Our organization believes that everyone is entitled to health care that is high quality, affordable, and easily accessible.

The current proposals seem endless and are constantly changing.  For AAUW the top priority is not the system itself but rather the end result of reform that succeeds at providing access to quality and affordable health care for all Americans. Click here to read complete article
